Adam Saffian Ghazali was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Air Selangor in July 2024, bringing over 24 years of extensive leadership experience in the water services and utility industries. His expertise encompasses strategic business and operations management, financial oversight, and the implementation of innovative solutions for sustainable water services.

Adam’s academic achievements were made possible through a scholarship from Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA). He holds a Master of Applied Taxation from the University of New South Wales, a Bachelor of Business (Accounting & Finance) from the University of Technology Sydney, and a Foundation Studies Certificate from MARA Science College Trolak. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and a Chartered Accountant (CA) with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

Throughout his career, Adam has held key leadership roles in prominent organizations:

  • As CEO of Aliran Ihsan Resources Berhad and General Manager of Special Projects at MMC Corporation Berhad, he spearheaded critical water sustainability initiatives.

  • As Chief Financial Officer of Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad (PAAB), he secured landmark financing programs for the water industry.

  • Early in his career, he gained extensive experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), specializing in audit and advisory services.

  • Before joining Air Selangor, Adam served as CEO of Alam Flora Sdn Bhd, where he led efforts to manage and reduce waste, serving communities through environmental management solutions.

Adam is currently the Deputy President of the Malaysian Water Association (MWA) and a Strategic Council Member of the International Water Association (IWA), where he plays a key role in driving advancements in the water sector.

His career achievements include leading negotiations for water restructuring agreements involving seven major water operators nationwide, delivering impactful Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction projects, overseeing the development of water reclamation plants using alternative financing models, and managing the operations of major water treatment facilities.
