Tom founded Burnt Island Ventures in 2020 to become the best early-stage water investment fund in the world. Water is the fundamental molecule that allows society to exist, and emerging technologies are deeply underfunded relative to their importance in the context of climate change, and the $900bn market they operate in. Burnt Island Ventures has made 18 investments to date from their $30m Fund I. Previously Tom ran the Accelerator at Imagine H2O, vetting 2,500 companies over five years and working with 170 of the top founders of the decade. Tom holds an MA from the University of Edinburgh and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
